Mind Maps

Idea

Péter Arató of Provonix created a Drupal module called Graphmind, which uses a Flash-based Mind Mapping program.

Mind mapping is one of the most powerful meta-cognitive learning tools out there: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mind_map

Teachers familiar with Inspiration (my favorite educational software) will find Graphmind very awkward, but here's the thing:

If you use Drupal with Graphmind, your students can make mind maps from home and submit them via the website as documents they (and anyone else, possibly) can edit and build.

With Inspiration, you'd have to give each student a license to use the software (or have them download the free trial and use it only for a month).

If anyone would like collaborators or support doing this, let me know. It's also a handy "feature" now for easy install if you use features: http://pronovix.com/blog/project-status-mindmaps-open-atrium-using-graphmind
