What modules would enable students to submit pages for grades?

Per http://groups.drupal.org/node/21176 - offers some ideas.

I suspect that workflow + rules, particularly in the context of organic groups, would do the job much better.

I like PrivateMsg

This allows conversations between students and teachers that take place on-site (not via email). The comments on student-posted nodes would be formative evaluation, but not grades; a privatemsg would allow grades. The difficulty here is that once you enable privatemsg then students can message each other during the school day, and some schools might not want that. It would be good if someone created a "PrivateMsgRole" module (or added functionality) so you could specify who could initiate a privatemsg exchange (a teacher can initiate with a student, but a student can not initiate with a student). Or not.
