How do you unpublish work by class or year?

Per http://groups.drupal.org/node/22919 - add a vocabulary as you create the work (or a role, as you create users) so you can mass-update (or mass-unpublish, or mass-delete) them. The Mass Tag module is great for this purpose.

Since users change by year (and therefore threaded discussions will be orphaned when you add new students), why not keep each year as its own site, with a subdomain? E.g. 2009.myschool.edu, 2010.myschool.edu (or have the current year default to myschools.edu). -Bram
